Kanye West doesn’t want Kim Kardashian to “Runaway” any longer and is asking for reconciliation with his former wife once more.

The 44-year-old rapper-producer stated as much at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum’s “Free Larry Hoover” fundraiser event on Thursday. At the event, he mentioned Kardashian, 41, and dedicated a song from his album “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” to her.

According to People magazine, the Yeezy boss crooned, “I need you to rush straight back to me, darling,” before adding, “more specifically, Kimberly.”

Kardashian was in the audience for West’s and Drake’s performance. Her mother, Kris Jenner, and sister, Kendall Jenner, were with her, as were her two children, North, 8, and Saint, 6, whom she shares with West.

Chicago, 3 years old, and Psalm, 2 years old, are the couple’s children.

According to a recent court document acquired by TMZ, West didn’t quite get through to Kardashian, as the Skims entrepreneur formally filed to go on with her life as a single woman on Friday. (AP) — CHICAGO (AP) — Jussie Smollett, the former star of “Empire,” was found guilty on Thursday of staging an anti-gay, racist attack on himself over three years ago and then falsifying to Chicago police about it.

Smollett stood and faced the jury in the courtroom as the verdict was read, displaying no outward reaction.

The 39-year-old was found guilty on five counts of disorderly conduct, one point for each time he was charged with lying to police in the days following the claimed incident. In mid-February, weeks after Smollett claimed he was attacked, he was acquitted on a sixth count of lying to a detective.

The charge is a class 4 felony that carries a maximum punishment of three years in jail, although experts say Smollett would most likely be sentenced to probation and community service if convicted.

His personal and professional lives could be severely harmed. After prosecutors said the purported attack was a fabrication, Smollett lost his role on the TV show “Empire,” and he told jurors earlier this week that “I’ve lost my livelihood.”

After a one-week trial in which two brothers claimed that Smollett recruited them to stage an attack near his home in downtown Chicago in January 2019, the jury debated for just over nine hours on Wednesday and Thursday. They claimed Smollett engineered the hoax, instructing them to tie a noose around his neck and rough him up in front of a security camera, and that he requested that video of the fake be shared on social media.

“There was no fake,” Smollett testified, adding that he was the victim of a true hate crime. He spoke to the brothers as “liars” and said the $3,500 cheque was for nutrition and training plans. The brothers attacked the actor, who is gay and Black because they are homophobic and didn’t like “who he was,” according to his lawyers. They also said that the brothers made up the allegation about the attack being staged in order to acquire money from Smollett and that they promised not to testify against him if he gave each of them $1 million.

A prosecutor told jurors during closing arguments on Wednesday that there was “overwhelming evidence” that Smollett orchestrated the attack and then lied to police about it for notoriety. The prosecution’s case, according to his lawyer, is founded on lies.

Special prosecutor Dan Webb told the jury that Smollett forced Chicago cops to spend a lot of time and money investigating what they believe to be a hoax.

“It is simply unacceptable to overtly degrade something as serious as a true hate crime and then make sure that it involved words and symbols that have such historical significance in our society,” Webb added.

He also accused Smollett of lying to jurors, claiming that surveillance video from before and after the purported attack contradicts crucial parts of Smollett’s statement.

Nenye Uche, a defense attorney, described the brothers as “skilled liars” who may have been driven to attack Smollett by homophobia or a desire to work as his security.
He explained, “These guys want to make money.”
Webb questioned why Smollett didn’t hand up his smartphone, a DNA sample, or access to his medical records to aid the investigation. Smollett stated that he doesn’t trust Chicago cops and is scared about his personal safety.

“He would not be hiding evidence if he was a legitimate victim of a crime,” Webb added.

When Chicago police asked for Smollett’s DNA while he was still being investigated for a crime, Uche termed it “ridiculous.” Smollett later supplied DNA to the FBI for a separate investigation into hate mail he received just before the alleged attack at the “Empire” studio, he said.

Uche stated, “He wasn’t hiding anything.”

The disorderly conduct accusation is a class 4 felony that can result in a three-year jail sentence, but experts believe Smollett will likely be sentenced to probation and volunteer activities.

A representative for the Recording Academy confirmed to Variety that Drake has withdrawn his two Grammy nominations for 2022. Drake’s representatives did not reply to demands for comment right away.

According to Variety, Drake and his management made the decision, and the Grammys fulfilled the request, albeit his motivation was unclear at the time of publication.

Drake was one of five rappers nominated for Best Rap Album and Best Rap Performance for “Certified Lover Boy” and “Way 2 Sexy” (featuring Future and Young Thug).

The voting for the two rap categories will go forward with just four nominees, probably because the voting period has already begun; Grammy ballots were posted for voting members on Monday morning.

Grammy nominations must be filed by an agent, generally the artist’s record company, and if the artist does not want their music included, the label simply does not submit it. It’s possible that removing a nomination so late in the game — after it’s been submitted and announced, let alone on the day the ballots are mailed — is unprecedented.

Drake’s nominations, on the other hand, were uncommon. While it’s unclear whether he decided not to submit the hit “Certified Lover Boy” or any tracks from it for the big categories – Album, Song, or Record of the Year — his absence from any of those categories on the preliminary ballot, which covers thousands of releases, suggests he did.
